Text Box: 	The Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts was established in 1980 with the primary duties of providing the facilities of Government transaction to the people of the State at their doorstep and to ensure financial discipline and control. This Directorate is manned by the following services.
(1) Nagaland Finance and Accounts Service: This service comprises of the
  following cadre and officials:
Director	
Additional Director	
Joint Director
Deputy Director/Sr. Treasury Officer/Sr. Accounts Officer
Assistant Director/A.O./T.O./A.O. (Audit)
JAO/STO/DAO posted to various departments and works divisions of the State.
	(2) Subordinate Accounts Service: This service comprises of the following cadres:
Treasury Accountant
Sr. Accounts Assistants.
Jr. Accounts Assistants.
		All non-gazetted posts of Treasuries and Sub-Treasuries are filled up from this Service.
(3) Accounts Service Association of Nagaland: This service comprises of the
       following cadres:
Senior Divisional Accountant.
Junior Divisional Accountant.
The above accounts personnel are posted to various works Division in the State. They are responsible for maintaining proper accounts of the division and also to render proper accounts of the concerned divisions to the Accountant General Nagaland, Kohima.
	Proper financial management of State requires well trained personnel. To prepare the personnel to cater to the needs of the State in efficient management of financial matters, the department has set up a Training Centre at Dimapur which was inaugurated on 28th February 2005. The Centre will impart training to both newly recruited employees of various departments and in-service employees. The Training Centre is expected to become a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in a few years and cater to all the needs of the State for proper management of the State finances.
	The Directorate is also in the process of improving and developing its infrastructure. Construction of Treasury office buildings at Tuensang, Zunheboto, Mon, Wokha, Kiphire, Phek and Mokokchung are nearing completion. Construction of the Directorate office building is in progress.
